Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson

How do you follow up making a protagonist so badass that people want to read your next book, without having that badassery become stale for its repeated continuation and repetition?

Make them go Super Saiyan.

I thought I enjoyed the first book, and I really dead, but then I read the second and I was floored. Yes, each of the POV characters and some of the minors get fleshed out more, and come into their own power and intrigue, but what really made me love this entry was the power creep of how much of a downright cool-ass dude Kaladin became in the second novel.

"honor is dead, but i'll see what i can do"
BAD .. ASS

So many quotable moments throughout the book, but Kaladin stepping into defend Addy, or dueling with the white assassin who is supposed to be evil-super saiyan. Look, the book is just a wild ride from start to finish, and I loved it.
