This has to be one of the most important books I’ve ever read. Sincerely swept me off my feet with emotion, this is an incredibly written book and it’s a shame people don’t get the opportunity to read it. While the language can be vulgar, it’s necessary to the plot and the environment. A real learning experience about how we treated african americans before the second world and how this world is seen through the eyes of a child. Highly recommended regardless of your age and background.
