With Without You being my first read by Marley and absolutely loving it, I couldn't wait to dive into another one of her books. I'll be honest and say I was a little bit worried to pick this up because of what I've read in the synopsis. It definitely delves into a few tropes that I don't like to read on a regular basis, but I wanted to give it a try.

From the very beginning, there's no doubt about the strong connection that Gael and Jordan have with one another. But with them having a such a solid friendship that neither one wanted to ruin, it definitely held them back from speaking their truths. So there's a lot of emotions when it comes to these two.

And then you have Elena who was Gael's fiancee, my stomach dropped with what would come of this story. Despite the pending nuptials, you can tell that the relationship between Elena and Gael didn't quite fit. And I struggled and was quite heartbroken for Elena.

I definitely wish things were handled bit better on all fronts, but am glad there was a HEA. Because of the certain tropes, that's why this one didn't quite work for me. It has no reflection on the author's writing because I'm still a fan. I do know that many will absolutely enjoy this one!
