I feel like the blurb left some rather relevant things out, but the novel is really good. I enjoyed the way the complexity of one of the main character's trauma was explored, it felt very realistic both in his reactions and the way the world just kept moving on so he barely had the opportunity to deal with it at times.

I also really enjoyed the dynamic between the two main characters, since this is a romance that relationshio has to be compelling and it fully delivers in that regard.

In addition, I am always glad to read a work that casually includes trans people in a way that doesn't have questionable undertones. It is therefore of little surprise that I really liked the idea of a society that fully acknowledges both binary and non-binary identities.

The one thing that's kind of odd is the extremely short amount of time the book covers (about three weeks, the leads know each other for one of them) which is fine for the surrounding plot but makes the relationshio progression kind of insanely fast. I mostly forgot that since the book is relatively long and with so many things happening it feels like more time passes in universe but the actual time scale is really short.

Also I liked Markel I think everyone needs a Markel :-)
