This book was so heartfelt. The struggles of a father who had lost touch with his son, fallen out with his wife, and found himself trying to pick up the pieces after his wife died was an emotional roller coaster. Add in falling in love with his son's best friend's father and there were so many ways it could have gone wrong. Luke and Landon's relationship was so, so perfect. Starting out as friends -with Landon supporting Luke's efforts to reconnect with his son- and growing into the realization that they could have it all, was so sweet and the vulnerability of both men was really refreshing and honest. The relationships with their sons was a huge point of the book, but it didn't take from the story, it just strengthened it. Great characters, intensely emotional plot, and a really satisfying happy ending.
