Picture You Dead by Peter James
5.0
I have read all of the DI Grace books from the beginning and this is a great addition to the series. This latest instalment is a very twisty tale of art works, both genuine and forged, and the lengths that some people will go to in order to have precious things in their own possession.
Initially, there were a lot of different strands to keep track of, the couple who love to scour car boot sales, the burglar doing one last job to steal enough to retire on, the art forger and finally, a murder that was committed 15 years ago but has never been solved. Slowly, all these strands begin to come together and Roy Grace comes to realise that his cold case is maybe not so cold after all.
This book continues the ongoing story of Roy’s personal life and it begins only two weeks after the death of his son Bruno which ended the last book. The book can be read as a stand alone but having read at least some of the preceding novels will add to anyone’s enjoyment of this new story. I loved catching up with Glenn Branson and the rest of Grace’s team and look forward to their next outing.
