I have to admit, this book took me forever to get through. I was coming off a book high from a previous read, and I have to say, Boys In The Valley did not disappoint. It took me awhile to get through, but I'm fairly certain I would have DNFed any other book.
Philip Fracassi does a wonderful job bringing the setting & atmosphere to life without drowning you in pages of details. The story easily plays out in your head like a movie, which is always enjoyable!
That being said, I do wish we got to know some of the characters better. If a character's past of horrible, violent acts is mentioned, I want to know what he did exactly. Especially in a horror book.
I still don't feel Boys In The Valley fell short in any way. I'm glad I stuck with it and would definitely recommend.
