Robbins' style is unlike any other writer I've read and it's absolutely a blast to read. I think that's what makes this book so successful. The content and story are interesting, yes, and they definitely keep your attention, but you can tell Robbins had fuun writing this book. It breathes life into his main character, Switters. And because of this, you have so much fun reading it. There's no other book I've read that matches his style and his voice and it was refreshing reading something new that I very much enjoyed.

My rating lacks a star however because the end came too abruptly for me. Not that I wish the book would be longer, just that there was so much dramatic setup for a lackluster ending. An easy ending, if I can be so bold. It almost left me feeling as if I could have skipped over half the story because in the end it didn't matter.

But maybe, now that I think about it, that's part of what Robbins was trying to get across...hmmm...
