"At least here I'm walking in with open eyes."
Whew, what a ride!
The Last Housewife was everything I hoped and more. It's a thriller, but with the unique and intense backdrop of a violent patriarchal sex cult.
The book opens with a list of trigger warnings, with good reason. It's dark and has disturbing content, but not particularly graphic.
The story is partially told through podcast content, a device I quite enjoy when done well as it is here.
I won't say much more about it, other than this is a true page-turner from author Ashley Winstead that kept me absolutely hooked. Note the subject matter and warnings, and then recommended!
