I have mixed feelings. I really liked the concept of pensioners solving crime and felt like this is not something others had written about. The characters were very well written, funny and light-hearted but with a sprinkling of the sad aspects of getting old. The first half of the book wasn't bad but had too many characters which I found hard to keep up with. But it seems it was just a long set up and the second half was very engaging and kept me guessing. The big twist was good and clever but I'm not sure it really made sense. The end of the book also got surprisingly dark and I didn't really like that so many suicides were just thrown in there , I can imagine this could be triggering for people.
Moderate: Child death, Death, Suicide, Terminal illness, Murder
There are quite a lot of suicides in the book, if this is a trigger for you, please don't read it.
