The Giant's House by Elizabeth McCracken

4.0

Written by a former librarian, and this definitely shows in her narrator's observations about life as a librarian. I ended up caring more about the librarian narrator's emotional life than anything else, but I think because of her personality, and the control she has over telling the story, we never really got to see enough of the other characters besides James, the giant of the title. It's an odd story in some ways, but also one that makes you want to go out and LIVE when you finish reading it.
