uncannyem 's review for:
Seventh Son
by Orson Scott Card
And now for my review of the author that I've decided to add to all my reviews of his books. He puts his views into his story and it isn't subtle anymore. Let me be very plain: Orson Scott Card is homophobic. He advocates violence against LGBT people and campaigns against marriage equality. If you don't believe me do a quick Google search and you'll find many op-eds where he'll tell you himself. My conscience has led me to quit reading his books. Not one more penny of my money will go to supporting him.
About the book:
The first edition hardback of this book was on my parent's bookshelf when i was a child. Both of my parents read it and raved about it.
I didn't read it until I was an adult I enjoyed other books by Card & figured that if my (then divorced) parents could agree on it then I would love it too. Nope.
I finished it so it must not be terrible but I hated this book and although I'll never read another book by Card, he remains the author of some of my favorites of all time.
