Misadventures with a Manny by Toni Aleo

3.0

I probably would have enjoyed it more if more time was spent on them actually developing feelings for one another. It’s pretty insta-love and honestly I disliked the ending. Certain little lines got on my nerves in this (eg, gay comments or at the end where he says ‘well now I gotta marry you’) and they just weren’t needed at all.

The husband could have been a little less dramatic, and I would have liked, since this is a stand-alone, for their relationship to at least finish on them being somewhat civil for the kids but I’ve read many Aleo books now and this is usually how it goes and I just can’t be 100% happy with the HEA when there’s such shit people in peoples lives. Even if he bounced and decided to never see the kids again would have been better. Overall it was a good story, but needed more or less in some areas, for me to love it.
