The writing style just wasn’t for me. Other than their spelling improving, I got no sense of the characters maturing in any way and I didn’t find their voices believable for their supposed ages. I also felt the plot was very predictable and I didn’t find either of the main characters interesting. This was a book club book and I would not have picked it personally as it’s really not my kind of thing.
