The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers

1.0

Stars and buckets!!! If a 12-year-old somehow obtained a license to be a psychologist and had a bad case of potty-mouth *blush*, then sat down with other 12-year-olds to talk about their feelings ad nauseam, but wait we’re not done yet, now toss in a few court reports (written by the same 12-year-old), an absolutely ludicrous storyline where someone legitimately falls in love with a spaceship and it’s supposed to pull at your heart strings, a cast of characters whose syrupy dialogue is corny and sounds like one single individual, some aliens that resemble dodo birds and others that have six arms, and a few non-events then you’d have The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. The only positive, no need to continue on with any more books in this series. Suffice it to say I didn’t like it.
