eshulok 's review for:
The Sandman
by Lars Kepler
This is my first Lars Kepler novel and even though it's part of a series, it could have been a stand-alone. I didn't realize it was the 4th in a series and didn't feel I'd missed something.
Aspects of the story remind me of Silence of the Lambs, although it's a unique thriller. It's not a mystery that I could tease out while reading but I thought it held up when details and motives are revealed.
I couldn't really get into Saga's character. She seemed too contradictory. This is perhaps something that would have been helped by reading the earlier books in the series, if they explain her background better.
I'll definitely read another book in this series.
