This was not what I expected, there have been many novels written about the wives of great men of late and I expected this to read along the same lines. This reads much more like a memoir and spiritual awakening than a novel. Readers should be expecting a strong Christian element, though, given what I knew about C.S. Lewis, perhaps I should have expected that. The language is beautifully written and it was a joy to listen to it as an audio book. The book intrigued me enough to look into both Joy Davidman and C.S. Lewis biographies. I was very disappointed to learn Joy’s sons are estranged as adults.
