Although this book seemed very predictable, it was a very low-brainer read that was comforting, and would be perfect as a palette cleanser for those either in between high fantasy reads, or heavy fiction. The characters were pretty interesting, and the way their issues were written didn't cause any confusion — which was nice, given that sometimes backstories can turn into tangents that turn off the reader. I wasn't a fan of all the tropes, but they were easy to overlook as the development of the story unfolding was easy to follow and I could picture it as though a movie were playing in my head.
I highly recommend this if you're looking for a warm read that won't stir any negative emotions in you.
