Here We Go Again
by Alison Cochrun
This book was as cringe-inducingly millenial as I expected, but it also made me cry and reflect on how obsessively protecting one's sense of safety and control can limit one's happiness. I didn't expect both characters to embody aspects of myself in various ways, and I didn't expect their caring for a dying man to tug at my ongoing grief over my cat of fifteen years. The writing could've been better (both characters saying celebrity names instead of cursing was so corny to me), but this novel has heart for sure.
