I've read other works by this author. And this is kind of the same. The idea/story is fantastic. The writing and the characters are juvenile. The dialogue between these adults, some centuries-old adults, had me rolling my eyes so hard.
For Reina to be close to 40, she was immature and combative.
And she had bad friends. Eww.
Also, the narrators voice just didn't flow well. I felt like is was being read to instead of characters being portrayed.
I really wanted to love this because the story was really good. It just needs to be polished.
