Life After Death by Damien Echols

5.0

Having read some other books about the West Memphis Three, I enjoyed reading one of their first hand experience. Mostly covered his experiences growing up, getting arrested and imprisoned, and his experience in jail. Just a chapter or two covers his release and time since. What really struck me was his experience in Death Row, and how he explains how crazy the other guilty (all but one) prisoners he spent his time with. It seemed like those who have murdered have lost a piece of themselves, and would never be the same. As bad as I imagined it, his experience in death row was much worse. Glad that they have been freed.
