I, Micheal Bennett by James Patterson, Michael Ledwidge
2.0

No. I'm sorry, just NO. First let me say, I would have really loved this story if I hadn't JUST finished Judge & Jury, which was basically the same plot, but instead of drug lords, sub in the mob. It was literally the same story just with details changed to fit the cartel storyline.

But let's talk about the ending. Or rather, HOW THERE WASN'T ONE. Quite literally this story just ends in the middle of a brand new storyline and it's MADDENING.

I was on the fence about James Patterson, and after this book, my mind is made up. He's terrible and I have no desire to read anything he has ever touched every again. Four Blind Mice? Awful. Judge & Jury? Good, but I absolutely think it was because it was coauthored. And this stupid book? It's like he plagiarized his other story, changed 5 details so "no one would notice," and couldn't think of how to end this predictable yet absolutely unbelievable story...so he just didn't write one.

If the story itself wasn't actually interesting, I would have given one star. But the fact that it was...I generously gave it 2.
