I listened to the audio while following along in my physical copy ...
I truly enjoyed the action in this story, it had a strong start with all that was going on with the FMC, Seraphine. Then, adding the MMC, Ransom was 🤌🏽
I was not expecting some of these twists and revelations, so the author played those very well ... I do wish the reasoning behind the hit on Seraphine was presented better ... thinking of it now, it felt like it appeared out of nowhere.
I loved the slow burn between Ransom and Seraphine ... but the events leading up the ending honestly pissed me off.
Although it was the reverse of what we see in stories, I just wanted more tbh.
However, this had a strong start to the series ... and I am excited to continue it.
