Master of Salt & Bones
by Keri Lake
I truly love reading all the new and exciting ways authors can spin the Enemies-to-Lovers trope, & this is no exception.
Isadora & her Aunt Midge were a great pair, Lucian & his darkness was consistent throughout the book, even with the twists and turns that I enjoyed as well. Not quite 4 stars but pretty close.
Isa is an amazing character.
Truly. I loved her, her back story, her aunt - even her mom.
Where we got a pretty in depth background story for Lucian though, who's POV starts 15 years prior to the story line it wasn't the same for her.
I would have really liked to read more on Isa in that way. Gotten to know her more, more time with Kelsey (her bff) & involved that relationship more.
I wish her relationship with Guilia developed more, & I wouldn't even mind a lot more Makaio dialogue!
So this isn't a con exactly.. I'd say it's a compliment that Lake spun such interesting characters that I actually wanted to read into them MORE, not get through their sections, inner dialogue, or similar.
