Three Missing Days
by Colleen Coble
The 3rd and final book in the pelican harbor series. This one was still amazing but not as suspenseful as the others. I felt as if they gave away the bad guy sooner in this book where as the other 2 had major plot twists which I loved. Kept me thinking and on my toes even more. In this book Reid’s ex wife Lauren is coming back and getting aggressive. That’s when they find out she is actually still Reid’s wife which changes everything. It puts extra pressure on Reid to handle court and also causes tension between Reid and Janes newly found feelings for each other. Then when Lauren comes and gets aggressive towards Will and he accidentally pushes her into the ocean, everything changes. Especially when they find Lauren, but she’s dead. Will gets charged for manslaughter but they are able to keep him in juvie since he’s only 15. Jane is taken off this case due to it being too close to home so she pours herself into the other 2 recent dead bodies. A firefighter and a local woman were both found dead from a house fire. The firefighter had been battling with the local woman because she signed off that he had been on drugs and caused him to not be able to be around his children. So automatic signals are that he tried to kill her and it went wrong. That is until the cases end up blending together. Reid convinces Jane to take a visit to meet her mom where she is given a key for a lockbox which contains pictures of Reid’s mother being murdered and one of the images has the map for a bomb that Gabriel and Moses had buried and Janes mother had moved. Jane starts to have memories come back to her and realizes her mother had drugged her and she had helped her mother bury Reid’s mother after her murder. As Janes memories start to come back she’s able to start piecing things together. She also discovers Gabriel is working with her uncle Edward who absolutely hates Janes father. Jane finally pieces it all together that Lauren had been dating Edward in exchange for money he was using her for info. His plan was to bomb Charles compound, frame Will for that murder, and kill everyone Charles cared about while they were inside the compound. Janes officer was able to shoot him while he had the detonator in hand and also get him to confess on video the things he done which released will. Reid asked Jane to marry him which Will was the most excited about and at the end of the book Jane announced that she was pregnant. All in all a happy ending just not quite as much plot twist as the other 2 I felt and zero sex.
