Amazing Ace, Awesome Aro: An Illustrated Exploration by Victoria Barron
funny
informative
fast-paced
5.0
This book is everything I wanted and more. It’s quick, it’s concise, it’s funny and it’s well illustrated. I wish my teen self could have read this and figured things out much quicker.
There are quizzes and little games to keep you entertained while discovering if you’re on the aromantic or asexual spectrums, as well as where you may fall on those spectrum. The periodic tables at the beginning and end of the book are cute little reminders and the cut-out slips are perfect to keep positive.
I learned a few new things, which is quite the feat considering this is a young adult book and I’ve been in the community for a few years now. Ficto-, bellus- and myr- are all prefixes I hadn’t heard about before. The comfort levels and boundaries tables also helped me pinpoint what I am or am not comfortable with, something few other books on the subject have done.
This is perfect and I will recommend it to absolutely everyone who wants to read about being aspec.
