Fighting for Irish by Gina L. Maxwell

5.0

“Fighting for Irish” is the third book in Gina L. Maxwell’s Fighting for Love contemporary romance series, and while it was a darker, more emotional read than the first two, I still thought it was a fantastic read!

This book focuses on Aiden “Irish” O’Brien and Kat MacGregor, an unlikely couple who have a lot of obstacles in their way. Kat is on the run from the mafia, and Aiden is determined to protect her.

Aiden and Kat weren’t looking to start any kind of relationship when they first met - quite the opposite, in fact. Kat was trying to lay low and get out of town, whereas Aiden just wanted to keep her safe.

They also both had tragic backstories that affected the way their relationship developed over the course of the novel, but I thought those scenes were very well written.

They’d both been through so much horror and trauma, but I was so happy they were able to feel something for the other even when they didn’t intend to.

All in all, I thought this book was a great, if very intense, kind of read. I’m really looking forward to reading the final book in the series, and I’ve definitely fallen for Gina L. Maxwell’s writing style. I highly recommend!
