I wish I could put this book on a USB and upload it into my head. I am not a writer, but as a reader, I am amazed by the writing process. I listen to writers talk about where they find their ideas, their writing processes, the voices they hear, and the joys and frustrations of writing. Anne Lamott captures so much of what I have heard in elegant and humorous prose. I "tagged" many quotes from the book, but want to remember this: "Writing and reading decrease our sense of isolation. They deepen and widen and expand our sense of life: they feed the soul."
