Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
4.0
How do you feel about not knowing the identity of the narrator of the book you are reading?
That is one of the unique aspects of Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. I read this as part of a buddy read and it was such an interesting read to dissect with that group! Rarely do I ever read a book where I cannot root for anyone but genuinely, every character in this book was deranged and delusional. And I ate it up! I found myself gasping and even gagging at times while learning about the inner workings of the narrator, Maxim, and the titular Rebecca. Even side characters like Mrs. Danvers and Frank had some interesting traits and skeletons in their closets. This is the perfect spooky fall read. I wish the ending was a bit more clear/ironed out, but I still enjoyed this book greatly and recommend to all!
