I expected this one to be funny, but light...a total summer beach read. I was very wrong in the very best way. I listened to Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo on audio because Amy Schumer narrates and I love to hear an author read her own book. The book was thoughtful, vulnerable, honest, and funny when it needed to be. Amy describes a childhood with dysfunctional parents, her father's MS, a sexual assault, the male-dominated world of stand-up comedy, and her relationship to "women's roles" in a way that has you nodding, laughing, and at times, even shedding a tear. She hit the nail on the head with this book and I came away from it liking her even more than I already did. Highly recommended.
