When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill
Did not finish book.
Uh oh, dnf at 50% (sticking to my goal of dnf-ing if I'm not enjoying something)
I can see why some people would like this but I was just so bored.
The concept of women "spontaneously dragoning" is great, but the story is limited to the perspective of a young girl and the relationships/difficulties in her family after a family member turns into a dragon but it is never talked about. Again, it's a great metaphor, but I didn't see this book exploring it much beyond surface level. I would have wanted it to include more perspectives to do more with it, and my fantasy-girl heart definitely wanted more dragons.
