This is an enjoyable read. An interestin  magic system, a fun well developed cast of characters and well paced.  I came into it expecting to love it and I ended up liking it a lot.  The narrator was great. The story left me in a place, clearly to entice me to the next book.  While I resent it, I'll read it.
