I don't know why I waited so long to read this book, it was great. I wish we could have discovered more "personal truths" about Vola, and it's not subtle about war = bad, humans = destruction. It would have been nice to see a little more balance with not all humans are horrible and destructive but it's a middle grade book that gets the message of war across to the reader.
