:( i really wanted to like this one, but the entire time i was just thinking of what my next read was going to be. we’re following Marianne as she is dealing with the grief of losing her mother after she disappears. i personally found no connection to any single character. even though i’ve experienced similar levels of grief, i didn’t feel myself connecting with any of it (which is fine, everyone experiences it differently, but just didn’t work for me). i didn’t think the writing was very good or the pace or storytelling made any redemption possible. i didn’t loathe it, so it gets two stars. sad, but i think there’s a solid audience for this.
