Adorable Menagerie

I think this is my favourite book in the series. I adore Santi and Micah. Technically they are both "vets" Micah is a veterinarian and Santi is an army veteran. Micah's veterinary practice is struggling after the construction company he hired and paid up front went bust. Santi offers to help him out since he was discharged from the army due to his deteriorating vision. He has to come to terms with slowly losing his sight and that representation was beautiful. Micah was insecure about his looks since he's plus size and has never been with anyone before. Santi doted on him and immediately squashed his insecurities. They were so sweet together. The collection of animals was so freaking cute. The Great Dane keeps adopting other animals. Honestly the mental visual of the big Great Dane curled up with a duck and a kitten melted me. The only thing in this book that I didn't love was the parts with Micah's high school bully Christy. It was a story line that went nowhere.
She came on to Micah in high school and he rejected her because he's gay and this homophobic bitch is like "guys didn't want me because they were afraid I'd turn them gay and it's all your fault". Yeah, cause that's how it works. (I mean her husband is making out with other men behind her back so she clearly has a type) All these years later she's still bitter about it. Micah was/is shy he didn't say anything then. Now he stands up for himself and I love that and Santi is there to back him up. She makes a lot of empty threats but nothing comes of it.
She's just a hater and she didn't need to be here. But I really liked everything else about it. It's just what I needed.
