hillybillyhoo 's review for:
The Water Cure
by Sophie Mackintosh
This book had received mixed reviews on Goodreads. I picked it up second hand at a Youth Hostel in the Yorkshire Dales. I know they say you should never judge a book by its cover but, if the cover doesn't draw my eyes to it, I'm not even picking it up. The cover isn't even all that striking yet, out of the hundreds of books on the shelves I was drawn to this.
Eerie, haunting and compelling reading. I 'enjoyed' this uncomfortable story and it's exploration of abusive, dysfunctional relationships and toxic feminism.
