Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

4.0

I had to take an extra day to process this book! It’s definitely was not what I was expecting but I’m actually happy it was different from my typical rom-com read.

This book tackled something that seems extremely mundane but oddly underrepresented in literature. Dating when flawed. Now every rom-com features people with flaws but usually in the hopes of fixing those flaw with the help of a new love and lease on life that changes their life for the better.
This book is more about how best to love someone who is flawed and how when you find the person who accepts you exactly the way you are you don’t want to let them go. It features a young black women with severe recurring medical issues and a young man with a bad case of anxiety and self-loathing. They are both damaged and by learning to love each other they start to feel whole. They don’t try to fix each other but rather being together makes them want to be better.

It was a very heartwarming story although very, very sexual.....which I didn’t mind but there were definitely a couple of *gasp* moments where I was like did I actually just read that
