Orgullo y prejuicio by Jane Austen

not a big fan of this kind of literature but i'm fascinated with jane austen's writing
i had read sense and sensibility in the past and the exact same thing popped in my mind all the time: a room of one's own by virginia woolf, and specially when she wrote: "here was a woman about the year 1800 writing without hate, without bitterness, without fear, without protest, without preaching. that was how shakespeare wrote"
i can't make sense of the idea of a woman sitting in a room full of people, having to hide what she's doing, deprived of alone time, creating such a book. it's perfect
