challenging informative slow-paced

Another informative book by Dan Jones. This was interesting to me because I'm a fan of the movies Becket, The Lion in Winter and Robin Hood which involved Henry II in both Beckett and The Lion in Winter and King John who was the protagonist in Robin Hood. It was thrilling to learn that these monarchs are the reasons the Magna Carta was written. Its also interesting to read about their exploits which is based upon reality as Mr. Jones has studied it. The book becomes plodding when Mr. Jones details the laws from the document itself. This of course is not a knock on Mr. Jones, its the purpose of the book, it's more a knock on me not being able to absorb the legalese of the document. But I believe its still worth the read.
