I’ve read several Disney retellings and they all have their own twists I am very entertained by. This is a modern dark romance where James (Hook) meets Wendy and wants to use her for his revenge plan against Peter (Wendy’s father).
Pros:
- I see you Mr. James Barrie/Hook aka Rico Suave

- This is just what was promised, modern romance, spice, and everyone is not so nice.
- There was one plot twist I didn’t see coming.
Cons:
- I thought it was peculiar how the author decided to tie in the crocodile and watch as trauma in this book. I mean I’m sure there are many ways she could have done that, so I just felt it was an odd choice.
- The villain was pretty obvious.
Overall I felt this was a nice standalone contemporary dark romance retelling of Peter Pan. I’ll be reading more books in the series.
