This book feels like a bunch of prequel short stories. It gave me video game or Dungeons & Dragons feels because all the short stories are like quests that Geralt is going on.
The world building in this books is done slowly so it's not overwhelming. We get a little bit of information on how and why people become Witchers.
This book was definitely not what I was expecting. It's hard to follow the timeline on some of the stories. I hope the next book is easier to follow.
