I was scared going in to this with “The Princess Bride” being my favourite movie and not wanting it ruined. I came out of this convinced there isn’t a greater book to movie adaptation. Everything the movie did different I agree with, the wonderful thing tho. The movie changed like 4 things:
1. No detailed scenes on the farm (which is the only one I am on the fence about but I do get)
2. Kidnapping wasn’t during the night but during daytime (much better choice cinematically)
3. The movie kinda showed the reunion scene (my favourite scene and I will be sending the publishers a letter as the book requested idc that it’s been 46 years I have international poststamps left over)
4. No Fezzik and Inigo in the zoo of death (no zoo of death in general) (kinda dragged on those scenes so I’m glad the movie got rid of them)

I did skip the whole Buttercup’s baby chapter, mostly because I didn’t care about the explanation and thought the book had ended nice enough.

I too will ignore mr. Morgensterns ending and will imagine the same ending as mr. Goldman
