Improbable Heaven by J.P. Noether
hopeful
lighthearted
relaxing
medium-paced
- Loveable characters? Yes
I know the author, so I'll preface this by saying: JP if you're reading this, don't read your reviews! Even this one! I promise I have only nice things to say, and don't read reviews!
Ahem.
Things I liked about this story:
+ Cute premise with loveable characters. I fell in love with and relates to Kel the moment she stepped on the page
+ Despite the presence of A Plot, everything was fairly low-stakes and light-hearted. The focus was on our two main heroines and their attraction to each other, and navigating that attraction while also handling The Plot
+ Alba is not a small person. Though none of her descriptions said "fat" directly, the other words to describe her made her curves and presence something to be desired. As a big girl myself, I love and appreciate this
+ This book is about angels and demons but it also lacks any philosophical exploration on the nature of good/evil and what happens in the afterlife. The Christian God is referred to exactly once (by my recollection) and with They/Them pronouns
+ Good natured and feel good. Kinda feels like cuddling .I am sticking this on my list of Comfort Reads for a rainy day
Recommended to people who enjoy/are looking for: queer romance, books featuring angels and/or demons, something light and fun
