This book blows me away.
The fact that it is written from the perspective of bees is not only interesting, but surprising. I never thought I'd genuinely pity a bee so much in my life, but the character of Flora 717 had me wanting to somehow change the harsh social structure of bees. Overall, the book is written beautifully. It gives illusions of bee life beautifully and I think more accurately than I could have imagined. There was not one aspect of this book that I did not fall in love with. I will definitely find myself looking towards Laline Paull's work in the future.
