The Boyfriend by R.L. Stine
3.0

I enjoyed this book, but found it very hard to wrap my brain around. It was well-written but seemed really repetitive. Joanna was just so self-centered and never cared about anyone else in the world; she even believed that her mother was against her (I mean come on! She gave birth to you!) when she wasn't. Joanna found pleasure in taunting and watching Dex squirm which I found very cruel. But that is one if the things that made me like the book much more than before. Authors never want to make the main character rude, mean, and likes watching their "friends" squirm. But R.L. Stine did. He did what another author probably wouldn't have. I recommend this book for those of you who like a good short suspense read. Someone could probably finish this book in about 3 hours or so.
