Eddie Huang has a funny and irreverent voice that gives this book phenomenal character. This book is as much about coming into one's own as a continuous process as it is about food and culture. As much of a story about race in America as it is about food, this book effortlessly interweaves multiple themes and ideas and speaks to the complexity of Eddie's life and experience.
