RE-PE-TI-TIVE
The fact that book 2 and 3 could have been only 1 book astonishes me. I am not saying they are bad. I think the story is good, I enjoy it. Too many filler scenes for me, espcially book 2. I just don't care for the romance that much. Only as a subplot. Tell me, why are the sex scenes soooooo much longer and frequent than the fight scenes or the adventure ones?
Pages and pages about how they can't keep their hands to themselves, but she talks to a god...and it's like 5 minutes and we don't even learn anything! I loved the parts with the magical fog/mist. Or where she learns about magical creatures and gods. Give us more of that. Please, I'm begging you.
"We don't know who I am, we don't know what I am." WE GET IT! You're having an existential crisis... you don't have to remind us every 3 pages. No wonder Kieran can't stand her... Ugh, Poppy is soooo annoying. She's stubborn, but so is the 200 year old vampire who acts like he's a teenager... he doesn't care about the kingdom or the people, he would burn the world for her. So much for a fair prince/king... And don't get me started with the "everyone deserves dignity in death" and she loves killing more than anyone in the story and never feels remorse...
At this point I'm more interested in the wolves and dragons than the main characters tbh.I know I sound like a super hater. I swear I'm not. There are parts I enjoy, of course I do. But I do have a lot of feelings about the past 2 books...
Last thought: If someone talked to me as much as they do while in bed, I would get dressed and leave. Like... honestly! Also... Who talks about their families while having intercourse? Yuck!
