The Only Plane in the Sky: An Oral History of September 11, 2001 by Garrett M. Graff

Hands down the best audiobook I’ve ever listened to. The sheer number of accounts of the day who speak in the book is incredible, and I learned so many details about 9/11 that I didn’t know before and that aren’t commonly talked about. Obviously, re-living this day via these accounts was heavy and heartbreaking and I really could only listen 30 minutes or so at a time before needing a break, but I do think this is a piece of history every American should listen to.
