The Lying Life of Adults by Elena Ferrante

4.0

I thought this was good, although I'm not sure I'd recommend it. It's reasonably slow-going, more of a seductively naval-gazing internal monologue then anything really plot-driven. Like for Giovanna, my aunt and my father are also estranged from each other, so in a way that made this feel strangely personal. Several of the other reflections Giovanna makes on her parents and her relationship to them struck me deeply.
