Butterfly Hunter by Julie Bozza

4.0

What an odd but wonderful read! Written so lyrically and beautifully with magical prose. David and Nicholas come together first as friends on that mystical road trip to find blue butterflies and then emerge, almost as if they were butterflies themselves, as a loving couple. Some of the pacing was a bit off and I had to re-read parts to really understand - As if to say to myself "Oh, that's what happened." Particularly the end
so that was a marriage proposal?!
. But the combination of Aboriginal culture and beliefs combined with the sexual awakening of David made this an awesome read. The secondary characters were well drawn - loved Denny and Charlie. And the immersion into Australia and the language kept me engaged. Onto book #2.
